Delete account & data

There are two ways to have your CarpWeather account and its data deleted.

1. In the app (quickest)

Open CarpWeather and go to Settings → Profile → Delete account. Your account and data are deleted immediately after you confirm — you do not have to wait and nobody has to approve it.

Do you have a subscription? Cancel that first. Deleting your account does not stop a running Premium subscription either. That runs through the App Store or Google Play and has to be cancelled there separately, otherwise the payment continues while you no longer use the app.

On an iPhone: open your subscriptions in the App Store, or go to Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → CarpWeather → Cancel.
On Android: open your subscriptions in Google Play, or go to Play Store → your profile photo → Payments and subscriptions.

2. By request (without the app)

No longer have access to the app? Send a deletion request with the email address of your account to:

Or email directly to privacy@carpweather.app with your account email address and the words "account deletion request". In practice we handle it the same day; the legal term is within 30 days at the latest.

What gets deleted?

Your account (sign-in details) and profile data.
Your catches, swims, sessions and trips stored in the cloud.
Your membership of crews and your personal data in them.
Any Founder place and the lifetime Premium that comes with it. Those are tied to your account — delete the account and the place is gone, and you cannot get it back automatically.
Your customer data at RevenueCat, our subscription service. Your subscription itself keeps running with Apple or Google (see above).
If you sign in with Apple: on iPhone we revoke the link with Apple. If that fails, or you use Android, the app tells you how to do it yourself.

Note: content you actively shared with a crew can remain visible to that crew, and can be removed on request or anonymised. If you delete your account in the app, it also erases that account's data on your phone. With a request without the app: delete the app from your phone. Legally required data may be kept briefly before it disappears for good.
