Child safety policy

CarpWeather is an app for carp anglers, intended for users aged 16 and over. In the app you can chat and share photos within a closed crew. Strict rules apply there to protect children.

Absolute zero tolerance. We do not accept any form of child abuse or sexual exploitation of children. This is also known as CSAE , from the English term Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. This includes abuse imagery, grooming (approaching a child in order to abuse them later), sextortion (blackmail using nude images) and human trafficking. This is prohibited in the app and in our terms.

1. What is prohibited

It is prohibited to share, request or forward content through CarpWeather that sexualises or exploits a child. It is also prohibited to contact a child for such purposes.

That applies everywhere in the app: in chat messages, in shared photos, in names, and in anything users create themselves.

2. Reporting

See something like this, or suspect it? Report it immediately.

In the app: tap the ⋯ menu and choose Report.

We always handle child safety reports as a priority.

3. What we then do

As soon as we know of such content or behaviour:

we remove the content;
we block or delete the account of whoever posted it;
we preserve the evidence where the law requires it. So we do not simply erase it;
we report to the relevant authorities. In the Netherlands those are the police and Off limits, the reporting point for child sexual abuse material (meldpunt.online);
we cooperate with the investigation, as the law requires.

4. Child safety contact point

If we receive a report from Google Play or the App Store about possible CSAE content in our app, that goes through support@carpweather.app.

Through that address we explain how we handle such reports, and take action where needed.

5. We comply with the law

We follow the laws and rules on child safety, and we cooperate with the authorities responsible for them. This page is our public standard against child abuse and the sexual exploitation of children.
