By using CarpWeather you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.
CarpWeather is a trading name of a sole proprietorship established in the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42114185. Contact: info@carpweather.app.
CarpWeather is an app for carp anglers that shows a "carp score" and forecasts based on weather data, and offers features for a catch diary, swims, sessions, trips and sharing within a crew.
CarpWeather is free to use: the carp score and the weather forecast remain available at no cost. In addition we offer Premium β an optional subscription that unlocks extra features, such as more extensive analysis, saving unlimited swims and catches, and starting a crew and co-op.
Premium is available as a monthly subscription or as a Season pass for a full year, which works out cheaper per month. You always see the current prices in the app before you confirm a purchase.
Some subscriptions come with a one-off free trial period for new subscribers. Whether this applies and how long the trial lasts is shown in the app before you confirm. After the trial the subscription automatically becomes a paid subscription, unless you cancel before the trial ends. A running subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, unless you cancel it.
Purchases and subscriptions go through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, not through CarpWeather itself. You cancel in your account settings at the App Store or Google Play β you can do that at any time and free of charge, and it takes effect at the end of the current period.
Cooling-off period and refunds. Purchases are processed through the App Store or Google Play. For refunds and purchase-related requests, the terms and procedures of Apple or Google also apply. If you want to reverse a purchase, submit a request to:
As a consumer in the European Union you in principle have fourteen days to reconsider a distance purchase. For digital services that are immediately available, that right can lapse once the service has been delivered with your express consent; you confirm this at the purchase.
If you get stuck, let us know at support@carpweather.app. We cannot carry out the refund ourselves, but we are happy to help and can confirm what happened on our side where needed.
For cloud storage and crew features you create an account via Google or Apple. You are responsible for the activity under your account; if you suspect someone else has unauthorised access, let us know as soon as possible. CarpWeather is intended for users aged 16 years and over.
Within a crew β a closed group of 2β8 anglers β you can share content (catches, swims, chat messages). You are responsible for what you share. Not permitted is content that:
Leaving a crew. If you leave a crew, everything you shared there goes with you: your catches and swims from the shared feed, your messages in the chat, and your replies under other peopleβs posts. That is irreversible. What other members shared remains, and your own catches and swims stay yours in the app β sharing is a copy, not a move.
If an owner removes you from a crew, your contributions do stay. If you want them gone, use Delete all my data in the crew before you leave, or leave the crew yourself.
We do not tolerate offensive content or abuse. Offensive words are automatically blocked when posting. Users can report inappropriate content (in the app via the β― menu β Report) and block other users. We review reports as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours; we remove infringing content and may block or terminate accounts that break these rules. You can also report via info@carpweather.app.
If we remove content or block an account, we tell the person concerned why β unless the law does not allow it, for instance because an investigation is running.
Fish safely and responsibly. CarpWeather is not liable for choices you make on the basis of the app, including visiting locations or fishing in unfavourable (weather) conditions. Comply with local rules and licensing requirements.
CarpWeather encourages responsible carp angling: suitable tackle, a proper unhooking mat, a quick release, and respect for the fish. The app is never an excuse for harmful practices.
The app, the name CarpWeather, the design and the software are the property of CarpWeather. Your own content β your catches, photos and notes β stays yours. By sharing content within a crew, you give us permission to store that content and show it to you and your crew members, insofar as that is needed to make the app work. We do not use your content for advertising or other purposes.
We do our best to keep the app working reliably, but offer no guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free availability. Nor can we guarantee that stored data will never be lost; keep your own copy of important data where needed (via Settings β Legal β Download my data).
Our weather data comes from two suppliers.
CarpWeather uses Open-Meteo on the basis of a business subscription. The underlying weather data from both Open-Meteo and the KNMI is published under CC-BY-4.0; the attribution is shown in the app at the bottom of the screens where that data appears. This data may be inaccurate or delayed; CarpWeather is not responsible for errors in it. For critical decisions β in severe weather for instance β always consult the KNMI or an official meteorological service.
The maps are made with map data from OpenStreetMap (under ODbL) via Protomaps; the satellite layer comes from MapTiler. Those too may be incomplete or out of date: a bank, road or body of water shown on the map need not be like that in the field. For navigation and access, always trust what you see on the ground.
Without an internet connection the app largely keeps working: your catches, swims and sessions are on your device, and areas you downloaded beforehand under Settings β Offline maps stay available at the water. Areas you did not download cannot be shown, and the satellite layer only works with a connection. Weather and score data is only updated once you have signal again and may therefore be out of date.
Downloaded maps take up space on your device β from tens of megabytes to almost a gigabyte per area. The size is always shown before you start. You can remove them per area or all at once. Your phoneβs operating system may clear storage when the device fills up; if an area is dropped as a result, you can download it again.
To the extent permitted by law our liability is limited. We are not liable for indirect damage or damage from data loss, incorrect forecasts or use of the app. Our total liability for direct damage is limited per event to a maximum of β¬ 50; if you use a paid Premium subscription, up to the amount you paid for that subscription in the twelve months before the damage. These limitations do not apply in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part.
You can delete your account at any time (see carpweather.app/account-verwijderen). We may suspend (block) or terminate access to an account for breach of these terms.
We may update these terms; we announce significant changes in the app. Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes are submitted to the competent Dutch court, unless mandatory law designates another court.
